Hours - Monday - Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you know you are going to be here close to 5:00, please let us know and someone will stay late. Store Sales: The coupon is back - In April, it is a one time during the month 25% off coupon on regularly priced fabrics, minimum one yard cuts; also precuts; kits; batting, and sewing notions with a cost of $10.00 or more. Books, patterns, threads, and applique precuts are not included. For store news and subscriber coupons, please ask to be on my mailing list - here's the link to contact methods, so you can send me your email address. Lots of new fabrics are in, and there are new AccuQuilt specials. You can check the AccuQuilt web site; I honor the specials they list: accuquilt.com/special-offers.html AccuQuilt specials change frequently. You are welcome to give the store a call to see what they are. Often, I can only tell you what that week's special is, one week at a time. I do the same specials AccuQuilt offers, but you get our personal service. Northcott's Stonehenge Block Party started on March 15. Ask me for details. News: Our new Imagine That Club started in September with a new fat quarter. It's not too late to join the fun. Your $5.00 payment for the fat quarter joins the prize pool for the year. Our project unveiling date will be September 6, 2019. Everyone gets the same fat quarter, to make whatever their imagination tells them to (except pot holders.) The fat quarter material can be combined with any other fabrics, as long as it is used in the project. Quilt Retreat participants, are these yours? I have two diamond shaped block pieces that I think were left in October. Sun Dog Coffee's baked goods are very tasty and their lunch specials are also quite good. Sun Dog is open from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. It is located on the corner of Central and Highway 12, across from the train engine. And of course, there is Galleys, our local brewery which opens at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Galleys is a nice place to send your hubby while you shop. Quilt Retreats: My quilt retreats are held at The Barnsion, five miles east of Harlowton. It's a wonderful facility, with bedding and towels furnished. 2019's quilt retreats have been expanded to three evenings instead of just two. Come in on Thursday, leave on Sunday. The cost has increased to $235 because of the extra night and an extra breakfast. Each retreat will include three nights at the Barnsion, three breakfasts, two evening meals, and at least one kit for a small project. April's project is a crazy quilt wall hanging. There are still some openings in the October retreats. These are "sew on your own" projects; you should bring whatever you want to sew, although I try to have a fun new project that you can make and take home. Any questions or to sign up, please call the store at 406-632-4861. April 2019 dates are 4th-5th-6th-7th and 11th-12th-13th-14th. October 2019 dates will be 10th-11th-12th-13th, October 17th-18th-19th-20th (12 participants only), and October 24th-25th-26th-27th. I like to keep the retreats small with a maximum of 15. Classes and Events: * April 4, 5, 6, 7 - Quilt retreat at the Barnsion ** April 11, 12, 13, 14 - Quilt retreat at the Barnsion April 20 - (UFO rescheduled, no class) Happy Easter weekend April 27 - Mariner's Compass Class May 4 - UFO Club May 11 - Mariner's compass No additional classes scheduled for May, due to Memorial Day weekend, and my granddaughter's college graduation in South Dakota (how did she get to be that old?) Please call to sign up for classes by the Wednesday preceding the class. If you think of any classes you might be interested in taking, please make suggestions. Any questions, please give me a call. - Diana |
Saturday classes are all day classes starting at 9:30 a.m. and running until 4:30 p.m. |
|
Beginning Quilting: Learn the basics with an easy pattern. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Disappearing Nine Patch: Eyes are fooled by this clever Nine Patch technique. Example quilts on this website are this pink one, this one with fish, #6-1034, #6-1102, and #6-1204. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Stack n' Whack: With the fun Stack and Whack technique, every block is different. Example quilts on this website are #6-955, #6-912, #6-989, this red, black, and white one, this pink, blue, and yellow one, and , #6-1331. This class will be covered on two Saturdays. The second Saturday's date and activities will be determined by what works for the students in the class. The class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
One Block Wonder: A One Block Wonder quilt is based on 6 layers of fabric with a 24 inch repeat. Quilt pieces are cut with a similar technique to those of a Stack and Whack quilt, but the blocks are sewn together differently. Example quilts on this website are #6-1052, #6-1309, and #6-1335. This class may be covered on two Saturdays. If needed, the second Saturday's date and activities will be determined by what works for the students in the class. The class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Needle Turn Applique: Needle turn applique is a hand applique technique. Learn needle turn applique with a small project that can be turned into a pillow, table center, or quilt section. An example quilt on this website is #6-489. Needle Turn Applique is an all-day Saturday class, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Raw Edge Applique: Students in my Raw Edge Applique class make a wall hanging, using a McKenna Ryan pattern. An example on this website is #6-878. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Rag Quilt: Rag quilts are comforting classics. Example quilts on this website are #6-1024, #6-927, and #6-917. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Table Runners: Table runners are a fun way to complete a small quilt project. A variety of patterns are available at my store. Examples on this website are #6-865, #6-695, #6-915, and #6-837. This Saturday activity runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Monday Club projects: |
Block Of The Month Club: In 2010, we tackled "The Farmer's Wife", a spectacular quilt made with six inch blocks. See a better picture here. Block of the Month was first offered on Monday nights in 2010, was back by popular demand in 2012 - again in 2013 - and again in 2014. |
GoGo Club: Come in and play with the GO! Cutter and dies. Quilts on this website made with the GO! Cutter are the Bugs quilt #6-1066, this geometric quilt #6-1067, and the rag quilt #6-1024. GoGo Club was a Monday night club in 2010. |
Progressive Quilt: There is no pattern for the progressive quilt - each person creates a quilt center from good quality 100% cotton fabric, and passes the started quilt on to another group member, who adds the next section, and so on. When a quilt has been completed, with care from everyone in the group, it returns to the person who started it to keep. There's a better picture of this quilt in the Gallery. The Progressive Quilt was a Monday night club in 2011. |
