Due to the nasty weather and because it's my birthday this month, recipients of my mailing list have a choice of coupons. One coupon is for a one time discount of 25% on all regularly priced fabric, sewing notions, and patterns. The other coupon is for 30% off on batik fabrics. To sign up for my mailing list, send me your email address. MARCH SALE For all customers, I have 3 baskets of patterns at 50% off, and also about 200 bolts of fabric on sale. Winners of door prizes during our Open House in December were: Carol Swanz, Jamie Shipman, Jan Johnson, Debbie Bricker, Frieda Tyler, Patty Erickson. Belated thanks to those who braved the very cold, nasty weather for our Open House. IMAGINE THAT Each Imagine That Club participant will receive a free fat quarter of fabric to inspire a project, and then will work at home to create whatever they imagine from it. An Imagine That project can be a quilt, a wall hanging, or whatever someone wants to make. There is just one limitation: "NO potholders, please." Your project can be any size and may include other fabrics if you like, but it must include at least part of the fat quarter. Last year some participants used just small pieces of it. At the end of August (or early September) all the participants will get together for an Unveiling Party with food and prizes. $5 participation fee, open to anyone. Sign up for this fun by July 1st. We have completed two months of the 12 months of Christmas. The first two projects were a Christmas stocking and a Christmas Tree using Quilt Smart. Each month will be a different project with different techniques. There was a charge for the full year of $149 with a discount on the kits for each month. Individual classes may be attended for the usual class fee of $25.00. If you still want to sign up for the full year, we can prorate the $149, or you can choose to receive the kits for the first two projects. |

Join the sewing fun at Diana's Quilts-n-Things! My quilting groups are friendly gatherings where you can concentrate, share, work, and learn. My store has special equipment and work space for quilters to use, and lots of materials and patterns. Come on in to work on your projects - where everything you need is at hand, including new techniques and experienced advice. I offer two types of year-long subscriptions. My Monday Club, "Diana's Quilts -n- Things Exclusive Membership Club", meets for a two-hour evening session on each Monday of every month. The Monday Club meets outside of store hours, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Members always get a 25% members' discount on fabrics, sewing notions, and patterns. (Some exceptions apply: embroidery thread, post card patterns, quilt magazines, buttons, books, and applique precuts.) Club membership is $149 for the year (an over $300 value). This year's projects are Block of the Month (1st Monday), 12 Months of Christmas (3rd Monday), and two UFO Nights (2nd and 4th Mondays). The 2014 Monday Club Block of the Month will include two quilts. The first one is a 7 month project. Kits will receive the 25% members' discount. Or, take a Saturday class once each month this year for a single $149 fee. My 2nd Saturday of the month class will be a Tadashi Gardens Block of the Month quilt, starting February 8th. 4th Saturday of the month classes this year are themed the 12 Months of Christmas. A different project and technique will be featured each month. It's a great way to have Christmas projects for gifts all ready by the Holidays! Individual 2nd or 4th Saturday of the month class attendance without subscription costs $25. Please note that some classes have additional project materials charges. Do you love to quilt, and both Saturday plans sound great? Take half price off the second subscription - that's both Saturday classes, all year, for only $223.50. Wow. PREPARATIONS: If a club or class member is bringing a guest, or if you want to attend a single session, or if you are a class subscriber and want to switch Saturdays, please contact Diana beforehand. 1st Saturday of the month classes do not have a subscription available. Their fees vary by topic. See the website Events page for my plans each month, and please call to enroll. 3rd Saturday of each month is Charity Quilt sewing - all hands are welcome, no fee, potluck. It does help if you let me know you are planning to attend. Fabric donations are welcome! If you cannot make it to one of your regular sessions, or if Saturdays just don't work for you in general, please contact Diana to see if an alternate date can be set for you. If you have questions on any of these, please give me a call. (632-4861) |
Saturday classes are all day classes starting at 9:00 a.m. and running until 4:00 p.m. (9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during summer Daylight Savings Time.) |
|
Beginning Quilting: Learn the basics with an easy pattern. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. during summer Daylight Savings Time.) |
Disappearing Nine Patch: Eyes are fooled by this clever Nine Patch technique. Example quilts on this website are this pink one, this one with fish, #6-1034, and #6-1204. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. during summer Daylight Savings Time.) |
Stack n' Whack: With the fun Stack and Whack technique, every block is different. Example quilts on this website are #6-955, #6-912, #6-989, this red, black, and white one, and this pink, blue, and yellow one. This class will be covered on two Saturdays. The second Saturday's date and activities will be determined by what works for the students in the class. The class runs all day, starting at 9:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. during summer Daylight Savings Time.) |
One Block Wonder: A One Block Wonder quilt is based on 6 layers of fabric with a 24 inch repeat. Quilt pieces are cut with a similar technique to those of a Stack and Whack quilt, but the blocks are sewn together differently. An example quilt on this website is #6-1052. This class may be covered on two Saturdays. If needed, the second Saturday's date and activities will be determined by what works for the students in the class. The class runs all day, starting at 9:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. during summer Daylight Savings Time.) |
Needle Turn Applique: Needle turn applique is a hand applique technique. Learn needle turn applique with a small project that can be turned into a pillow, table center, or quilt section. An example quilt on this website is #6-489. Needle Turn Applique is an all-day Saturday class, starting at 9:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. during summer Daylight Savings Time.) |
Raw Edge Applique: Students in my Raw Edge Applique class make a wall hanging, using a McKenna Ryan pattern. An example on this website is #6-878. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. during summer Daylight Savings Time.) |
Rag Quilt: Rag quilts are comforting classics. Example quilts on this website are #6-1024, #6-927, and #6-917. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. during summer Daylight Savings Time.) |
Table Runners: Table runners are a fun way to complete a small quilt project. A variety of patterns are available at my store. Examples on this website are #6-865, #6-695, #6-915, and #6-837. This Saturday activity runs all day, starting at 9:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. during summer Daylight Savings Time.) |
Monday Club projects: |
Block Of The Month Club: In 2010, we tackled "The Farmer's Wife", a spectacular quilt made with six inch blocks. See a better picture here. Block of the Month was first offered on Monday nights in 2010, was back by popular demand in 2012 - again in 2013 - and now again in 2014. This is the first year I have offered this as a Saturday class also. |
UFO Club: Work on those UnFinished Objects. Actual progress. What could be better? |
GoGo Club: Come in and play with the GO! Cutter and dies. Quilts on this website made with the GO! Cutter are the Bugs quilt #6-1066, this geometric quilt #6-1067, and the rag quilt #6-1024. GoGo Club was a Monday night club in 2010. |
Progressive Quilt: There is no pattern for the progressive quilt - each person creates a quilt center from good quality 100% cotton fabric, and passes the started quilt on to another group member, who adds the next section, and so on. When a quilt has been completed, with care from everyone in the group, it returns to the person who started it to keep. There's a better picture of this quilt in the Gallery. The Progressive Quilt was a Monday night club in 2011. |
