BIG JULY FABRIC SALE I have been getting new fabrics every week since the first of the year, and I am running out of room again. Because I am expecting a lot of new batiks in September, joining the ones that came in last week, I am declaring all my prior stock batik fabrics to be 20% off for the month of July. Selected non-batik fabrics have been priced from $4.00 to $9.00 per yard. Because these prices are in most cases more than 30% off, a minimum one yard cut will apply. (Please note that basics, blenders and new fabrics are not on sale.) We have lots of new fall and Christmas fabrics in. This is a good time to browse for seasonal project material - there is an unusually wide selection this month, and also some of our prior stock fall and Christmas fabrics are included in the reduced price sale. I have also repriced the sale fabrics out front. There are some real bargains out there. |

* Weaving: July 27 - Weaving class, taught by Charlotte Jenkins from Big Timber. This technique makes rugs, pot holders, and placemats. Taken from the book Rugs from Rags. Should be a fun class - what a great way to use those strips you just can't bear to throw away. Charlotte's husband builds the looms for the class. We need a minimum of 5 people, maximum of 10. The class fee is $15.00. Charlotte and I both have the books for sale. Possible quilt classes for August, will be Applique, Stack and Whack, Rag quilts, Circle of Friends, and Mondo bag. Suggestions by interested people are always welcome. |
Alternate meeting times are available for participants who can't make the Monday night meeting. Every month's 3rd Saturday, we will have a sewing day for quilts to be donated. Pot luck lunch will be served. Anyone is welcome. If you can, please let me know by the day before if you would like to participate or donate fabric. *** Diana's Quilts -n- Things Exclusive Membership Club *** 2012 Membership privileges include 1. All Monday night clubs - 7 to 9 p.m. 2012's Clubs will include a Mystery quilt (pattern included), two UFO nights per month (person completing the most projects at the end of the year will receive a free gift), Block of the Month, Imagine That quilt (free fat quarter of fabric to start the project), and Seasonal Club/special projects. 2. 2 special events - I haven't decided yet what these will be, but anyone who attended the 2011 events will tell you they were fun. 3. Two (2) $15.00 Saturday class vouchers 4. 15% discount on regular priced fabrics, sewing notions, patterns and books 5. 20% discount on prepaid special order items (books, patterns, sewing notions not regularly carried in the store) 6. Wednesday afternoon repeats (1 to 3 p.m), if you missed the scheduled event on Monday night. 7. Special sale events * * * $350.00 value for $149.00 * * * |
Saturday classes are all day classes starting at 9:30 a.m. |
|
Beginning Quilting: Learn the basics with an easy pattern. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Disappearing Nine Patch: Eyes are fooled by this clever Nine Patch technique. Example quilts on this website are this pink one, this one with fish, #6-1034, and #6-1204. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Stack n' Whack: With the fun Stack and Whack technique, every block is different. Example quilts on this website are #6-955, #6-912, #6-989, this red, black, and white one, and this pink, blue, and yellow one. This class will be covered on two Saturdays. The second Saturday's date and activities will be determined by what works for the students in the class. The class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
One Block Wonder: A One Block Wonder quilt is based on 6 layers of fabric with a 24 inch repeat. Quilt pieces are cut with a similar technique to those of a Stack and Whack quilt, but the blocks are sewn together differently. An example quilt on this website is #6-1052. This class may be covered on two Saturdays. If needed, the second Saturday's date and activities will be determined by what works for the students in the class. The class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Needle Turn Applique: Needle turn applique is a hand applique technique. Learn needle turn applique with a small project that can be turned into a pillow, table center, or quilt section. An example quilt on this website is #6-489. Needle Turn Applique is an all-day Saturday class, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Raw Edge Applique: Students in my Raw Edge Applique class make a wall hanging, using a McKenna Ryan pattern. An example on this website is #6-878. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Rag Quilt: Rag quilts are comforting classics. Example quilts on this website are #6-1024, #6-927, and #6-917. This Saturday class runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Table Runners: Table runners are a fun way to complete a small quilt project. A variety of patterns are available at my store. Examples on this website are #6-865, #6-695, #6-915, and #6-837. This Saturday activity runs all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. |
Monday clubs: |
Block Of The Month Club: In 2010, we tackled "The Farmer's Wife", a spectacular quilt made with six inch blocks. See a better picture here. Block of the Month is a Monday night club. First offered in 2010, back by popular demand in 2012 - and again in 2013. |
Progressive Quilt: There is no pattern for the progressive quilt - each person creates a quilt center from good quality 100% cotton fabric, and passes the started quilt on to another group member, who adds the next section, and so on. When a quilt has been completed, with care from everyone in the group, it returns to the person who started it to keep. There's a better picture of this quilt in the Gallery. The Progressive Quilt was a Monday night club in 2011. |
GoGo Club: Come in and play with the go cutter and dies. Quilts on this website made with the Go Cutter are the Bugs quilt #6-1066, this geometric quilt #6-1067, and the rag quilt #6-1024. GoGo Club was a Monday night club in 2010. |
Seasonal Club: We enjoy making small projects related to the seasons. Wall hangings, table runners, and other fun fabric art items make it easy to dress up our homes. 4th Monday of each month. |
